Also, had an opportunity to work with a big shot photographer Nick D'Amico, the director of the spots and the entire crew for the first time. These two spots combines live action choreography with stylized 3D CG animation to form a compelling visual narrative about the complex beauty of the human anatomy. I was responsible to "Metropolis," which is one of the 6 ID spots for China's national network CCTV9. The challenge for this spot is to recreate CCTV Beijing headquarter from scratch, a lot of late nights :( but pleased with the result. The show captures a remarkable adventure of discovery in which we've uncovered the truths behind some of life's biggest questions. I came out with the concept of "Larger Than Life," which is a cinematic exploration of mystery that questions what we know. I wished to utilize stunning visuals and sound to capture our imagination and ignite our curiosity. Viewers are taken on a journey through epic scenes of wonder. Integrated within each scene is an over size photo real question mark formed by the very elements of the environment it inhabits. It is a reminder that curiosity leads to understanding and creation. We are reminded that life has many unanswered questions and the adventure begins with the asking. Very unfortunately the client took my idea and awarded to other shop. It went on air recently, both Chris and I were very upset about the outcome, and the worst part is to watch the concept got executed in a cheap way, which defeats the initial idea of "Larger Than Life."
